The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to commence on October 5th in India. The opening match will feature defending champions England facing the runners-up from the last edition, New Zealand, at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. This venue will also host the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan clash on October 15th.

The finals of the tournament will take place in Ahmedabad on November 19th, with the two semifinals scheduled for November 15th at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and November 16th at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. Note that all these key matches have a reserve day.

In total, there will be 48 World Cup matches held at 10 different venues across India. The host nation, India, will play their matches in Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Dharamsala, Lucknow, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad.

The tournament will feature 10 teams, including India, England, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Netherlands. These teams will compete in a single round-robin format, where each team plays against the others once. The top four teams from this round-robin stage will advance to the semifinals.

India’s first match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled for October 8th against Australia at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Apart from Australia, India will face tough challenges from New Zealand in Dharamsala and England in Lucknow, the only two teams that defeated them in the 2019 World Cup.

The match timings for the ICC World Cup 2023 are as follows: day matches will begin at 10:30 am, while day-night games are scheduled for 2 pm. The ODI World Cup 2023 will be live-streamed on the Star Sports Network in India, and all 48 matches can be streamed live on the Disney+ Hotstar app and website.

To qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinals, teams will need to secure 7 wins out of 9 matches. In case teams are tied on points, the total number of wins and net run rate will serve as tie-breakers.
