A version of cricket known as “test cricket” is played over the course of four to five days between international teams from various nations. It’s interesting to note that Andy Sandham of England became the first batsman to score a triple century in a Test match against the West Indies in 1930. Since then, 31 triple-centuries have been successfully scored in Test Cricket by 27 different batsmen. We will provide you a thorough list of these triple centuries in this page.
There are currently 12 countries that compete in Test cricket, with Ireland joining this exclusive club most recently. Below is a list of every triple century ever scored in a Test match.
Notable Milestones in Test Cricket Triple Centuries:
- On November 30, 2019, at Adelaide Oval in Australia, Australian cricketer David Warner added significantly to this illustrious list by scoring an unbroken 335 runs against Pakistan.
- It’s important to note that the only batsmen to have twice reached 300 runs or more in a Test match are Brian Lara and Chris Gayle of the West Indies, Donald Bradman of Australia, and Virender Sehwag of India.
- Cricket star Brian Lara now holds the record for the most 400-run test match total. In addition, he is the first player to have twice scored over 350 runs in a Test Cricket match.
- Wally Hammond completed a Test triple-century in the quickest time—4 hours, 48 minutes—in 1932–1933.
- With 278 balls against South Africa in Chennai in 2008, Virender Sehwag set the record for the fewest balls needed to complete a triple century.
- With a total of eight, Australia has scored the most triple centuries in Test cricket.
- The Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, and Headingley in Leeds, England, have each seen three triple hundreds, making them the two cricket venues with the most triple centuries.

Only 8 of the 12 countries that participate in Test matches have produced a batsman who has recorded a triple century. Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies are some of these countries.
But it’s important to remember that no player from Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, or Afghanistan has ever amassed 300 runs in a Test match. In the history of Test Cricket, only a small number of players have ever achieved a triple century, which is regarded as a great effort.
