Rohit's Surprise

Rohit’s Surprise: In the upcoming 3rd ODI, India is set to take on Australia, with captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Kuldeep Yadav returning to the squad. India currently leads the series 2-0, having secured victories in the first two matches. However, India will be missing key players such as Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Hardik Pandya, leaving them with only 13 available players for selection. Furthermore, uncertainties loom as Washington Sundar and Mukesh Kumar are doubtful due to their participation in the Asian Games, with the contingent departing for China on the same day as the 3rd ODI.

India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, acknowledged the challenges and hinted at the possibility of fielding local Saurashtra players due to the limited selection options.

“We have got a lot of players who are sick, unavailable, some have gone home for personal reasons, and some are rested. So, 13 players are available,” Rohit Sharma stated during a pre-match press conference in Rajkot on Tuesday.

Despite the uncertainties, India has displayed exceptional performance in the ODI series, securing convincing victories in both previous matches. They won the first ODI by 5 wickets and followed it up with a 99-run win in the second ODI.

India’s Squad for the 3rd ODI: Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar.
