Yuzvendra Chahal, 33, has been in the spotlight for the past few days after being left off of the list of 17 players for the Asia Cup. Following his exclusion, a number of cricket fans and analysts have voiced their agreement that Chahal ought to have been selected for the team.
Legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh is the most recent to join the fray and show his support for the leg-spinner. The Turbanator voiced his surprise at the choice and said Yuzi was India’s greatest white-ball spinner.
“The Yuzi Chahal is one thing that the Indian side lacks. a good leg-spinner who can deflect the ball. In white-ball formats, I don’t believe there is a greater spinner in India than Chahal. He lately played a few disappointing games, but that does not make him a bad bowler.
Harbhajan said that he expects Chahal will find a spot on the World Cup 2023 roster and that his exclusion from the Asia Cup is not the end of the road for him.
“In my opinion, the squad needs Chahal to be there. I’m hoping that he won’t find the doors locked. He should be taken into consideration for the World Cup since it will be in India.
